Game Rules
ALL ADULTS ON THE FIELD OR DUGOUTS COMPLETE ALL VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS.
Pre-Game and Post-Game
1. The home team will occupy 3rd base dugout
2. The home team is responsible for setting up the field and equipment
- Lining field & Bringing out bases
- Getting two game balls & the official scorebook from the snack bar
- Keeping the official scorebook of the game
- Bringing out a trash can to the field
3. The away team will occupy the first base dugout
- Remove equipment from the field and return to the blue shed
- Return the scorebook to the snack bar
- Empty the trash can in the dumpster and place it near the blue shed
4. The jersey must be tucked in
5. All bats must be USA Baseball stamped (does not apply to Softball)
6. All Teams MUST remove any trash from dugouts after the game
Game Times
- Sandlot – 4 innings or 1h
- Tee-Ball – 4 innings or 1 ½ hour
All other divisions will play 1 hour & 45 minutes (this is until the shedlight is fixed). The inning can be finished if the time limit is reached and the game is in the middle of an inning. No new inning may be started.
Sandlot/ Tee-Ball
- 5 runs per inning or 3 outs whichever comes first; Sandlot 4 runs per inning or 3 outContinuous batting order
- Batter striking the tee counts as a strike
- The ball must cross 15ft mark to be in play
- There will be NO catcher used
- All players must be in normal baseball positions
- A player may advance more than one base, there is no one-base-only rule
- If a team has 10 or fewer players that 10th player may be placed in the outfield
- The team manager/coach is responsible for putting the ball on the tee
- A coach/team mom must remain with kids in the dugout
- Offensive coaches may stand at first and third
- Defensive coaches may stand in the outfield only
- Coaches may not physically interfere with w/kids during live play (you cannot put your hands on a player) it is an automatic out
- If game time is up, you may finish the inning so long as visibility is not an issue
- After the game each team will line up for a customary handshake
PeeWee (Pitch Machine)
- 5 runs or 3 outs whichever happens first
- 6th inning continues until 3 outs are made (or the last inning of the night if it is not the 6th inning)
- Pitching machine speed 38mph (to begin the season) midpoint of season increase to 41mph
- Team manager/coach are the only ones to operate the pitching machine, any adjustments that are needed are to be handled with both managers at the machine.
- There are to be no adjustments during an inning unless the machine was hit by a batted ball
- Use four-seam when placing the ball in the machine shoot
- Only 1 ball is allowed on the field during the game, do not have "spare" balls for use at the machine
- A 10t circle will be placed around the machine
- A player in the pitcher position will have at least one foot in the 10ft circle at the pitch -they are not to stand past the midpoint of the pitch machine
- The ball is dead if it hits the machine, coach, or lands and stays in 10ft circle - each base runner is awarded one base
- Chin straps are required (two will be provided by the league for use on league helmets only)
- Catchers MUST wear a cup and use a catcher mitt- no exceptions
- No Headfirst sliding; this is an automatic out
- Overthrows only on plays made to first base, a player may advance to 2nd at their risk. A player may not advance on an overthrow to second or third base
- Pass ball – a player can advance at his/her own risk if the ball passes the heels of the catcher
- The ball is dead when the player pitcher has the ball or an attempt is made to control the ball
- A player may turn left after passing first so long as they directly return to 1st and no attempt/act is made towards second base
- You may have a first and third base coach and 1 defensive coach is allowed on the field (to begin the season)
- there must be a coach/manager in the dugout at all times
- If game time is up, you may finish the inning so long as visibility is not an issue
- All games played will be considered complete even if 4 innings are not played due to darkness; please keep the game moving in between innings as quickly as possible to play the maximum amount of innings
- The game will go back to the last completed full inning if the current inning has not been completed and the game ends as a result of it being dark
- Mercy rule – 15 after 3 innings, 10 runs after 4 innings, 8 after 5 innings so long as the home team has completed an at-bat
- Coaches may not physically interfere with w/kids during live play (you cannot put your hands on a player) it is an automatic out
Minor/Major Baseball & Softball
- 5 runs or 3 outs whichever happens first
- 6th inning continues with no run cap until 3 outs are made
- 4 innings are considered a finished game
- If game time is up, you may finish the inning so long as visibility is not an issue The game will go back to the last completed full inning if after 4
- The ball is dead when the player pitcher has the ball or an attempt is made to control the ball
- Catchers MUST wear a cup- no exceptions (Baseball Only)
- No Headfirst sliding: a player automatically called out
- No lead-off, a base runner may advance once the pitched ball crosses home plate
- Overthrows only on plays made to first base
- Pass ball rule - base runner may advance at their own risk
- Mercy rule – 15 after 3 innings, 10 runs after 4 innings, 8 after 5 innings so long as the home team has completed an at-bat

**Notes**
- Please ask players to arrive at least 15 minutes early so that games can start on time.
- No food is permitted in the dugouts
- Please ask parents to refrain from communicating with their player while in the dugout unless in an emergency.
- There is no on deck circle
- All players must remain behind fence or in dugout
